‘Kitty’ is a solid black, 86% foundation mare that is owned by Barbra Kennedy Johnson. This has been a favorite, good producing mare for Barb. Her foals have gone on to become successful riding horses. Kitty came off the Schiffer Ranch at Rosebud, Montana as a weanling. It is hard to find any holes in her pedigree—Hired Hand, Jet Deck, Poco Bueno, Little Freckles   In 2005, when our daughter was looking for a new 4-H colt to maturity project, she chose Kitty to be bred to JK Jay Reed aka Pine Cone. The resulting foal in 2006 was our  My Kittys Belle JW. That was Kitty’s first breeding with Pine Cone and we were very impressed and have continued to breed her back to him.  She has produced a 2008 bay filly, Leta Reed JB; a 2009 bay filly, My Kittys Melody JW and a 2010 sorrel stallion, Little Diego Reed JW.  Wow--he is really developing nicely.  This what we like about Kitty's foals.  She out produces herself every time.  Kitty is a little on the thin side this year and she's giving everything she's got to this big colt so she will NOT be bred back for 2011.  All of her foals with JK Jay Reed are 91% foundation eligible with NFQHA.

UPDATE 12-15-08.  We are excited to announce that Kitty is now here at the ranch with us full time.  Barb has given her to our daughter, Ella.
