2014 Bay Mare
Return to Previous Page

Born 5-16-14. ‘Angel’ is a 94% NFQHA (F0039271) bay filly with a star, strip, snip/blaze and a rear left pastern. She is a very special filly for us as she is named after her wonderful grandmother, BP Princess Lace aka Angel, who is retiring after raising her very last foal for us. Angel’s dam is Peponita Laceyed JW aka Geico who is 92% foundation bred registered with NFQHA. We raised Geico out of our mare, BP Princess Lace. Her sire was Mr Salty Peponita.  Geico has a very sweet personality and a feminine look to her. She has an awesome hip and is bred with a load of cow and an old fashioned foundation pedigree. Her Two Eyed Jack/Peponita breeding only speaks for themselves. This day has been a very sweet late Mother’s Day because not only did Geico foal today, but her dam, BP Princess Lace, also foaled. They both gave us two wonderful foals that we are retaining for our program to continue the family’s legacy.

Angel’s sire is JK Jay Reed aka Pine Cone, a 96% foundation bred stallion. The JK Jay Reed horses have a huge amount of ‘cow’. They are very smart, athletic, kind and fast learners. They are the kind of horses that can go any direction from the ranch to trail to show to rodeo. His pedigree speaks for itself and is as foundation bred as they come. Poco Pine, Continental King, Whiskey Bert, Joe Reed II are all on his papers. It is important to note that King P-234 is very close up in his pedigree and he traces to King a total of 6 times!

Angel is 94% foundation eligible with the NFQHA.  Angel should have a sweet disposition and will have the ability to go any direction for us. We are so excited for her birth and can’t wait to see her mature. She will not be for sale at this time as we plan on keeping her for our program. Angel is just a fantasic JK Jay Reed daughter out of a Peponita granddaughter. She is moderately sized and nice and thick. We are pretty excited about what she is looking like. We think we see a bit of the Two Eyed Jack coming through from her maternal side.  She has been started under saddle enough that we like her mind. She was exposed to our newest Paddys Irish Whiskey stallion, Hiline Whiskey, for a 2019 foal. We are super excited for both of these horses being a first and she had a gorgeous bay filly, Paddys Oak Italy JW. After a year off, we have exposed Angel to Water O Rielly and got a palomino stud colt, Amarillo Drift JW, in 2020. She is exposed to him again for 2021 foal and had a buckskin filly, Sagebrush Drift JW. We are liking this combo and her 2023 buckskin filly, Pearl Drift JW, is a keeper for us as of now. She had a palomino stallion by Radar this year, Chalcedony Drift JW that will be for sale.
