2016 Palomino Mare
Return to Previous Page

Born 6-9-2016. Some years we do a fun theme for names.  This year we decided to go with American Made Muscle Cars from the 50s, 60s and 70s. We have had some fun researching them.  This palomino filly was named after the 1967-1979 Pontiac Firebird.

Firebird is Miss Jacks Wrangler’s third foal with Walter O Rielly. She is palomino with lots of chrome! She has a blaze that is symmetrical and high white stockings on both rear feet. We have waited for three years for a filly from this mare on this pairing. She has had 2 nice stud colts previously. We will be retaining this filly for our program with the hopes of putting this filly back with our Paddys Irish Whiskey stallions in the future. Miss Jacks Wrangler aka Roxanne offers Two Eyed Jack, Rocket Wrangler, Bugs Alive in 75 and Triple Jill by Triple Chick . Wow!! Those names speak for themselves. ‘Roxanne’ is one of our best producers. She raises a big strong colt and does an excellent job as a mother. Her 2008 stallion, Peponita Bugseyed JW, went to Kansas as a stud prospect; Roxanne has had 4 foals by TRR Paddys Texas Gin aka Tex.  Her 2009 bay filly, Paddys Gin Rocket JW; 2010 bay filly, Paddys Gin Alive JW, and 2012 bay filly, Paddys Gin Triple JW, are all in Tennessee as roping and show prospects. Roxy broke out very nicely and is now a broodmare and Alli has been shown in American Ranch Horse Association (ARHA) shows where she was reserve champion at yearling halter, was very successful in roping training and recently has been in barrels training.  She is expected to be a pro level horse and our friend Liz has received at $13K offer for her if she decides to part with her. Tripp is also in barrel and poles training and doing fantastic.  Roxanne’s 2011 colt, Paddys Gin Jango JW  is a sharp looking sorrel stud colt that was sold here in ND. Her 2014 stud colt, Jack Frost Drift JW, stayed in ND as a roping prospect and her 2015 colt, Big Bird Drift JW, went to Missouri with a repeat buyer.

No matter what stallion, Roxanne never disappoints us! She always has a good one!  Firebird’s sire, Walter O Rielly aka Radar, is new to our program and this is his fourth foal crop. We were looking for a foundation Driftwood bred stallion to hopefully get some replacement fillies out of some of our better mares.  Radar is a 90.234% foundation bred perlino stallion who goes to King P-234 ten times, to Driftwood four times with strong doses of Joe Reed, Three Bars and a little Doc Bar.  Radar is a 16 hand horse with a huge stride and a gentle personality. Firebird will be a big and stout horse. With Roxanne as her mama we fully expect her to look good doing no matter what she will do. This mare is getting up there in age and there won’t be very many more so we are so very excited to finally be getting to keep one ourselves! She is big and robust and at this time is the only filly we have retained from this mare for ourselves.  She is all we'd hoped. Firebird was exposed to Jacks Our Bartender for a 2020 baby and had a bay roan stallion, Matador Bartender JW.  She will have 2021 off. She had a 2022 bay roan stallion by Jack, Shark Bartender JW and was exposed back to him and had a 2023 sorrel/red roan stallion, Jasper Bartender JW
