Born 5-15-12. TAKE A GOOD LOOK! This is one stout and well built dun colt. He’s looking red dun right now, but we’ll have to see if his points come in black instead. He has a small star and a left rear half stocking. We purchased his dam, UR A Little Sugar aka Hurricane, to add Sugar Bars and more Roan Bar to our program and with the goal of retaining fillies from her. We call the mare Hurricane. Her 2010 colt was French Sugar Guy JW aka Tornado, 2011 filly, Earthquake, and now we have Tsunami aka Nami---NOT because of wild dispositions, but the opposite—unique horses need names with a little extra pizzazz. Nami’s sire is JK Jay Reed aka Pine Cone, a 96% foundation bred stallion with Poco Pine, Continental King by King P-234, Joe Reed II and Whiskey Bert all on his papers. Pine Cone has King P-234 fairly close up and goes back to him six times. Both dam and sire are HERDA N/N so Nami is also N/N.
UPDATE 10-11-12. Wow this is a standout colt. He is staying red dun and will be a darker color as typical of the JK Jay Reed offspring. We are super proud of this colt. His Sugar Bars background is really adding nicely the the JK Jay Reed lines. He's going to be a 15-16 hand horse with cow and speed. 'Nami' is a super mellow colt that was easy to halter break and not a care in the world. He has all the makings to be good family horse down the line. He's headed to Tennessee after weaning to join several of our other horses with Jesse and Liz. Thanks again guys!
