Born 4-9-14. ‘Crush’ is a bay that should roan with a round star and a white rear right ankle. He is a grandson of Paddys Irish Whiskey. Crush is a very exciting stallion for us as he is the first foal out of the pairing of Whoop Up Whiskey aka Whoop and one of our Docs Flying Peppy daughters, Docs Fancy Roan aka Soda Pop and we are NOT disappointed. Docs Flying Peppy was sired by Doc’s Flying Bar x Doc Bar who stood at Texas A&M University. Soda Pop has risen through the ranks to be one of our main ranch horses and a very solid cowhorse. Soda is a great combination of old time foundation breeding and solid cutting horse cornerstones with Doc Bar on her papers and Mr San Peppy once off. You can read more about her and see a lot more pictures of her on her own page.
‘Whoop’ is a 2010 son of Paddys Irish Whiskey and out of a great John Scott mare, My Little Sugar Babe. The Paddys Irish Whiskey horses are making a name for themselves in everything from cutting to cowhorse events to roping horses and are very versatile. A key difference between Whoop Up Whiskey and our other PIW son, TRR Paddys Texas Gin, is the dam pedigree. While both dams go back to Doc O Lena, Whoop’s goes to Doc O Dynamite who also stood at the John Scott Ranch. Doc O Dynamite was an Equi-State leading cutting sire from 1999-2005 who produced money earners and according to his performance record, his daughters have produced many money earning foals in AQHA, NCHA, NRHA and NRCHA. Doc O Dynamite has a pedigree that traces back to Three Bars giving a bit more stretch and speed to his offspring and shows up on the pedigree of many arena and speed event horses. Whoop Up Whiskey aka Whoop brings that little more height and length and speed to our program as compared to TRR Paddys Texas Gin. He has excellent bone, athleticism and conformation. His lineage tells us that his offspring will have cow and will be capable of performing at any level.
Crush’s maternal sister, Paddys Gin Fanta JW, is training and showing in reining, reined cowhorse and working cowhorse events with Schlegel Horse Training. Fanta is very athletic, smart, has all the right moves and has obtained her Certificate of Ability. She has been and is showing in her 3 and 4 year old years.
UPDATE 11-3-15: Crush appears to combine the best of his dam and sire. This is a colt that can go far in the cowhorse world whether toward cutting, versatility, reined or working cowhorse. We have spent the last year growing out this colt and have decided to offer him up for sale. We always strive to balance between keeping our best and sharing our best. This colt is one of our very best! We own both the dam and sire and are confident that we can produce another just like him. Preference will be given to a show home with somebody who will take him to his ability. He has the build and ability to go any direction and his color is a huge bonus. Crush has been sold and headed to California to be an all around horse and maybe see some cattle and roping. Congratulations Beth!
