Born 4-27-18 ‘Frenchy’ is a bay roan filly with a star, snip, both rear white pasterns, Front left coronet to half pastern towards the back. Her dam, TDM Smart Bronsin aka Smarty, was purchased from Swenson Martin Quarter Horse and Cattle Company as a yearling. Smarty is one of her sire’s first foals and comes from a North Dakota ranch that raises and uses geldings who sell later on as top notch ranch horses at various regional sales including the Ken McNab sale in Wyoming. Smarty’s sire, Docz Coy Bandit, goes back to names that speak for themselves such as Smart Little Lena, Fritz Command and Doc Bar. What caught our eye the most was Smarty’s bottom side. Her dam goes back to PC Bronsin owned by Crago Performance Horses in Belle Fourche SD. PC Bronsin is a son of Sun Frost and he himself is very impressive and leaves behind an remarkable entourage. He won the All-Around title at the World Foundation Quarter Horse World Show at the age of 15. Placing or winning in nearly every event really showed his versatility and style.
This is Smarty’s first foal by Whoop Up Whiskey. ‘Whoop’ is a 2010 son of Paddys Irish Whiskey and out of a great John Scott mare, My Little Sugar Babe. The Paddys Irish Whiskey horses are making a name for themselves in everything from cutting to cowhorse events to roping horses and are very versatile. A key difference between Whoop Up Whiskey and our other PIW son, TRR Paddys Texas Gin, is the dam pedigree. While both dams go back to Doc O Lena, Whoop’s goes to Doc O Dynamite who also stood at the John Scott Ranch. Doc O Dynamite was an Equi-State leading cutting sire from 1999-2005 who produced money earners and according to his performance record, his daughters have produced many money earning foals in AQHA, NCHA, NRHA and NRCHA. Doc O Dynamite has a pedigree that traces back to Three Bars giving a bit more stretch and speed to his offspring and shows up on the pedigree of many arena and speed event horses. Whoop Up Whiskey aka Whoop brings that little more height and length and speed to our program as compared to TRR Paddys Texas Gin. He has excellent bone, athleticism and conformation. His lineage tells us that his offspring will have cow and will be capable of performing at any level. Whoop’s foals are breaking out really kind and level headed.
Frenchy is a beautiful filly that should be a nice all around prospect with a lot of style. She will be able to excel in the arena or on the ranch as well. We are seeing a lot of that style and grace in these Whoop babies.
