“Boogi” is a 85% NFQHA (F0039288) flashy sorrel mare with a big white blaze and flaxen mare and tail. She is out of the first foal crop from her sire, CD Cyna Dee, owned by Hockenson Quarter Horses in Iowa This stallion they called “Lights” made a name for himself in the cowhorse world in his short life. CD Cyna Dee was an AQHA point earner in 10 events including, working cowhorse, tie-down roping, heeling, heading, reining, ranch riding, cutting, performance halter, poles and barrels. He had an LTE of $26,569 in NRCHA, NRHA and ARHFA. He was a 22X AQHA World Show Qualifier and placed 12th in the 2017 AQHA World Finals in Junior Heading. He earned his AQHA Open Superior in 2017 as well. He was also the 2017 SDRCHA Jr. Cowhorse of the year. As of 2023 his offspring has won over $88K and he has produced 2 AQHA Reserve World Champions. Unfortunately Lights passed way too soon, but his offspring continues to make a name for him.
Her dam is Pitzer branded owned by the Hockenson’s as well. We have always loved her dam’s pedigree and look and have been interested in her foals, so when Boogi became available we knew this would be the one! Pay special attention to Boogi’s maternal granddam, Dutchess Jo Jack as she is well known for the Pitzers as a full sister to Duke Joe Jack and dam of Show Me Duke with Duke Joe Jack currently having 4 sons standing at stud for the Pitzer Ranch.
Boogi has been ranching with us since she came home at end of 2020 after her 3YO year where she had shown in NRCHA with Matt. Since home she has completely risen to one of our very main ranch horses. Not much she cannot do. She has been used as a Cowboy Mounted Shooting horse for 2 summers. Boogi is one of two full sisters and we are breeding her full sister HQ Jacked Up Lights who is producing great for us and bred to Whoop and with his speed could really make a cowhorse or roper. Boogi is quick and active, but can get along with most people who can ride. She is 5 panel NN by parentage.
