Due to unforeseen circumstances, we only had interns until the middle of June and are currently without any which we usually have through December of each year. Therefore, we have been delayed with getting our 34 foals on the website & Facebook. Please be patient with us. We know many folks have been messaging and calling. We won’t have any additional help with halter breaking this fall and are pricing all colts and fillies for the same price of $2000 each with $2250 if they are colored with cream, gray or roan. We will honor the 10% discount for repeat and multiple buyers. We reserve the right to keep which we want for ourselves and to keep some at a higher price. Halter training will be basic and gentled but not to the same degree some of you may be used to. They will be weaned and eating good for 2 weeks. Genetic testing will be sent in but will be listed as pending for those with no results yet. Whoop Up Whiskey has a 50/50 chance as GBED carrier; TRR Paddys Texas Gin has a 50/50 chance as HERDA carrier; and handful of mares with have a 50/50 chance as either one or both of those two disorders.
Born 5-25-24. Some years we do a fun theme for names. This year we decided to go with a space theme. Many of these names are a little loose in thoughts regarding if they are planets, stars, or things found in space. This colt is named Mimas. Mimas is the 7th largest satellite of Saturn.
‘Mimas’ is a bay roan stallion with a star and matching rear socks. His mama, Top Gun Guthrie JW, is a first time mom and she did a great job. Guthrie is another example of some of our program’s older and original bloodlines being brought back into this new generation. Guthrie’s dam was Mujer Lucy Skip JW. She was purchased from Grantier Quarter Horses because her mare line is very close to several of our VERY PROVEN ranch horses. Mujer Tacky Jay, now deceased, made a name for himself producing using horses for the family, ranch, arena and youth. We really believe in these horse families. This was Lucy’s 10th and last foal. Lucy was a money producer with some of her older foals being shown in reined cowhorse. Guthrie was the 2nd foal crop for our Paddy’s son Top Gun Whiskey who we showed prior to breeding. He acquired some points, money and honors while he was being shown. In 2016 he qualified for the AQHA World Show in Jr Reining, Jr Reining Level 2 and Jr Cowhorse Level 2; in 2017 he qualified for the AQHA World Show in Jr Cowhorse, Jr Cowhorse Level 2 and Open Heading Level 2 placing 6th. It has been an interesting ride as he continued to show during the 2018 year as well as breed some of our mares for 2019 foals. Top Gun qualified for the 2018 World NRCHA show, was 2018 North Central Regional NRCHA Champion and has earned 47 AQHA performance points in reining, working cow horse, heading, vrh cutting, vrh confirmation, vrh reining and heeling. He also has his AQHA Open Performance ROM. Top Gun was injured during 2019 breeding season that cut his showing career short, but he still qualified for NRCHA Celebration of Champions in LTD Open Bridle. He was North Central Region NRCHA 4th place LTD Open Bridle and North Central Region NRCHA 9th place Open Bridle. We are excited to be able to put a Top Gun daughter back into our program, and what one better than Guthrie with a proven maternal side.
Mimas’s sire is Jacks Our Bartender. Jacks Our Bartender is a son of Bartenders Memory by Two ID Bartender and out of a granddaughter of Two Eyed Jack, Watch Miss Jo Jackie, born in 2003. Unfortunately, due to a stifle injury from being kicked by a mare, Jack was not able to stay sound enough to enter the show ring but was able to prove his athletic ability. Since then several of his colts have ended up in the roping arena and continue to prove their athleticism and great minds. By 2015 Hockenson’s realized that he was producing some really great roping horses and decided to see if they could keep his stifle sound enough to show and sure enough in a very short time, he quickly earned 5.5 AQHA Heading Points of his own proving that his offspring accomplishments were not by chance. He is a great horse to be around and out produces himself every time. Jack has 3 AQHA performing offspring. Many of his other foals have gone on to be great rodeo horses or rope horses competing and earning money in different associations. We bought Jack with one idea to be to put him on our Paddys Irish Whiskey daughters and granddaughters. He has the moves that they do but in a bigger horse package.
It's always exciting to watch first time foals unfold. Mimas has the pedigree to be an athletic prospect. He is N/N by parentage.
