Thanks Codie!

Born 5-21-14.  This filly was originally named Paddys Gin Annie JW and was later changed to Paddys Gin Timber JW as her color developed into a more rustic look.  So if you are looking for 'Annie', here she is!  Timber's color test came back and she is a buckskin filly with a star and two rear pasterns. Her dam is Bueno Macy Reed JW, a 2010 mare we raised. ‘Macy’ is a mare with a super nice cowhorse pedigree.  Her sire is JK Jay Reed, a 96% foundation bred stallion with Poco Pine, Continental King, Joe Reed II and Whiskey Bert all on his papers.  Her dam, Blondy Bueno, is cutting bred with Doc Bar, Bueno Chex, Peppy San and Tianna Leo x Leo on her papers. Since her dam is a palomino, Macy is a smoky black carrying the cream gene that she can pass on 50% of the time. Timber’s sire is TRR Paddys Texas Gin aka Tex. This is Tex’s sixth foal crop. He puts very thick and muscular foals on the ground with very nice muscle expression on them as well as a lot of athleticism and as they develop they have a lot of vigor. The oldest ones have been started under saddle by various buyers and we are hearing good things from all of them. The Paddys Irish Whiskey horses are making a name for themselves in everything from cutting to cowhorse events to roping horses and are very versatile—Tanquery Gin, Doc O’Lena, Docs Starlight, Poco Tivio, Peppy San Badger. Timber is the first foal for this dam. She will have plenty of ‘cow’ and should be an all-around athlete. She is a nice sized foal for a maiden mare and we are excited to introduce her. Timber should have all the skills to go any direction from arena to pasture. Herda N/N.

UPDATE 2-23-15. Timber has developed into a wonderful filly.  It should be known that her breeding accumulates 3 of the cornerstone horses in our program.  Her maternal granddam is Blondy Bueno who consistently produces our top selling foals.  Her maternal grandsire is JK Jay Reed who is our senior stallion and then of course her sire is TRR Paddys Texas Gin.  For those reasons it was very hard to part with her.  However, we have a win win situation in that our assistant Codie has purchased her so she gets to stay right here on the ranch and we can watch her mature and we have reserved the first right of refusal of purchase in the event that Codie decides to sell her in the future.  With Codie she will develop into a ranch horse and performance horse and hopefully a mounted shooting horse in the future.  We wish them all the best of luck.
