Born 4-24-15. ‘Bay’ is a bay filly with only a star and appears to have no white on her feet. This is her dam’s, My Kittys Melody JW, first foal and we are very pleased. She is one of our own JK Jay Reed aka Pine Cone daughters that we have exposed to TRR PaddysTexas Gin aka Tex. This is quite the epitome of our program to put Tex back on a Pine Cone daughter. We are blending these two families Pine Cone and Tex. The name Bay comes from TRR Miss Bay Gin (Tex’s mother). We find this very fitting for a Pine Cone granddaughter by Tex. Melody is 91% NFQHA. Her pedigree is solid with good dispositions all around and Melody has had a friendly disposition since birth. Melody has a very feminine face, gorgeous neck, kind eye, good bone, nice hip and as a plus, her mane ALL goes to the right giving her a very clean look. She was started under saddle when she was three and she did very well. She started her ranch work career in 2013 and showed the right amount of ‘cow’ to enter the broodmare bunch.
Bay’s sire is TRR Paddys Texas Gin aka Tex. This is Tex’s seventh foal crop. He puts very thick and muscular foals on the ground with very nice muscle expression on them as well as a lot of athleticism and as they develop they have a lot of vigor. The oldest ones have been started under saddle by various buyers and we are hearing good things from all of them. The Paddys Irish Whiskey horses are making a name for themselves in everything from cutting to cowhorse events to roping horses and are very versatile—Tanquery Gin, Doc O’Lena, Docs Starlight, Poco Tivio, Peppy San Badger. Bay is bred ‘cow’ top to bottom. Just imagine what all this cow will do! She will be able to go any direction from top performance to a top all-around ranch horse.
Bay started successfully under saddle and entered our broodmare band with Jacks Our Bartender and delivered a 2019 bay roan filly, Mei Bartender JW. She had the year off and was bred to Jack again for a bay roan filly, Rhubarb Bartender JW in 2021. She is exposed back to him again for a 2022 foal.
