Born 5-9-15. 'Ernie’ is a bay gelding with no white on him at all. We wanted to have some fun with names this year, so we have done a few Sesame Street names. Some of our foals have pedigree names, but he was a foal we got to play around with! We already have a ‘Bert’ and were waiting for Ernie! He showed up and just so happens their mothers are full sisters. Ernie’s dam, Mujer Dewey Dial JW aka Dewey, is a beautiful bay mare that is 83% NFQHA. This is her third foal. Dewey was purchased from Grantier Quarter Horses because her mare line is very close to several of our VERY PROVEN ranch horses. We have her older full sister, Mujer Lucy Skip JW, already in the broodmare band and doing a very nice job for us. Mujer Tacky Jay, now deceased, made a name for himself producing using horses for the family, ranch, arena and youth. We really believe in these horse families.
Ernie’s sire is JK Jay Reed aka Pine Cone, a 96% foundation bred stallion with Poco Pine, Continental King by King P-234, Joe Reed II and Whiskey Bert all on his papers. Pine Cone has King P-234 fairly close up and goes back to him six times. Both dam and sire have very even temperaments and Ernie should inherit plenty of cow instinct. He is 89.5% foundation eligible, should be about 15 hands and will be for sale.

UPDATE 10-4-16. This is a nice stylish and nicely put together colt. He is really getting nice and thick. We are pretty proud of what this mare is starting to do for our program with colts like this one. Ernie is now gelded. He has had his feed trimmed and is UTD on deworming and vaccinations. Additional pictures and short video can be provided upon request. It started raining during the most recent photo shoot so we had to cut it short. The handler is 5'5".
