2018 Bay Mare
Return to Previous Page

Born 7-30-18.Norway’ is a 85% NFQHA (F0039301) bay filly with a large star and disconnected strip and larger snip. She has a rear white right ankle and a left rear white pastern higher in the back. Her dam is Peponita Laceyed JW aka Geico who is 92% foundation bred registered with NFQHA. We raised Geico out of our great late mare, BP Princess Lace. Her sire was Mr Salty Peponita.  Geico has a very sweet personality and a feminine look to her. She has an awesome hip and is bred with a load of cow and an old fashioned foundation pedigree. Her Two Eyed Jack/Peponita breeding only speaks for themselves.

This is Geico’s first foal by Whoop Up Whiskey. ‘Whoop’ is a 2010 son of Paddys Irish Whiskey and out of a great John Scott mare, My Little Sugar Babe. The Paddys Irish Whiskey horses are making a name for themselves in everything from cutting to cowhorse events to roping horses and are very versatile.  A key difference between Whoop Up Whiskey and our other PIW son, TRR Paddys Texas Gin, is the dam pedigree. While both dams go back to Doc O Lena, Whoop’s goes to Doc O Dynamite who also stood at the John Scott Ranch. Doc O Dynamite was an Equi-State leading cutting sire from 1999-2005 who produced money earners and according to his performance record, his daughters have produced many money earning foals in AQHA, NCHA, NRHA and NRCHA. Doc O Dynamite has a pedigree that traces back to Three Bars giving a bit more stretch and speed to his offspring and shows up on the pedigree of many arena and speed event horses. Whoop Up Whiskey aka Whoop brings that little more height and length and speed to our program as compared to TRR Paddys Texas Gin. He has excellent bone, athleticism and conformation. His lineage tells us that his offspring will have cow and will be capable of performing at any level. Whoop’s foals are all breaking out well and kind.

Norway was placed back into riding. She has done well this winter and is currently in Texas with our trainer, Matthew Schlegel, and will be sold when he finds a home for her.  She is a beautiful mare.
