Born 5-2-22. “Stingray” is a bay stallion with a partial coronet on his left hind foot. This year our names are ocean plants and animals themed. This colt has the chance to roan and we will watch for that.

If you look at pictures of his dam, Peponita Roan Bar JW aka Strawberry, you will see a very dark chestnut roan mare that looks almost the color of a chocolate tootsie roll but when she was born she was as sorrel and roan as could be hence the name Strawberry as in strawberry roan.  Then she shed a sort of blue color so we thought Blueberry?  Then she got sort of dark and purple so we thought Raspberry? Anyway she never has been the color of a strawberry roan but the name just stuck.  Strawberry is 92% foundation bred and registered with NFQHA. We raised her out of our mare, Fancy Roan Belle aka Roany who is a cornerstone mare for our program with several of her offspring and grand offspring retained by us. Her sire was Mr Salty Peponita.  Strawberry has a very sweet personality and a feminine look to her. She has an awesome hip and is bred with a load of cow and an old fashioned foundation pedigree and she was fun to ride. Her Roan Bar/Peponita bloodlines only speak for themselves. She had a 2014 blue roan filly, Raz Ber Rita Reed JW, 2016 bay roan filly Riveria Reed JW, both by JK Jay Reed; 2017 Whiskey Up Bonita JW by Whoop Up Whiskey and 2018 Miss Two ID Peponita by Two ID Sweet Buck from Tien Quarter Horses who is a keeper for us.  Her 2019 foal, Paddys Gin Jafar JW, is a big stout red road that is in Texas with a repeat buyer. Her 2020 foal Top Gun Arlington JW was a mini me of his sire and went to a repeat buyer.  Her 2021 foal, Manzanita Drift JW we kept for ourselves and she sure turns heads. Strawberry out produces herself no matter who she is bred to.

His sire, Top Gun Whiskey, is one of four Paddys Irish Whiskey sons that we have owned. This is his 4th foal crop. We decided to give Top Gun a shot at the show ring before breeding him. In 2016 he qualified for the AQHA World Show in Jr Reining, Jr Reining Level 2 and Jr Cowhorse Level 2; in 2017 he qualified for the AQHA World Show in Jr Cowhorse, Jr Cowhorse Level 2 and Open Heading Level 2 placing 6th.  It has been an interesting ride as he continued to show during the 2018 year as well as breed some of our mares for 2019 foals. Top Gun qualified for the 2018 World NRCHA show, was 2018 North Central Regional NRCHA Champion and has earned 47 AQHA performance points in reining, working cow horse, heading, vrh cutting, vrh confirmation, vrh reining and heeling. He also has his AQHA Open Performance ROM. Top Gun was injured during 2019 breeding season that cut his showing career short, but he still qualified for NRCHA Celebration of Champions in LTD Open Bridle. He was North Central Region NRCHA 4th place LTD Open Bridle and North Central Region NRCHA 9th place Open Bridle. Stingray will have all the right moves and ‘cowiness’ to make an excellent performance, ranch, or rope horse. He will be a dynamo package with a good disposition. This foal is 86.5% NFQHA eligible and can be registered with them. He is a full brother to 2020 Arlington.

Repeat and multiple horse buyers will be less.  If you are not already an AQHA member, you may get your own membership or we will assess you an additional $55 one year membership fee in order to do the transfer for your new purchase.
