Born 5-9-23. Some years we do a fun theme for names. This year we decided to go with Geology and things that come from the ground.  Many of these names are a little loose in thoughts regarding if they are elements, minerals, rocks, gemstones or colors etc.  This filly is named Garnet, the name used for a large group of rock-forming minerals. Best known as a red gemstone and birthstone of January. Garnet occurs in many colors and has many industrial uses.

‘Garnet’ is a bay roan filly with a star, snip and both rear white pasterns. Her dam, HQ Ima Fanchy Bee, is a beautiful 2015 palomino roan mare with just a star that we bought in 2016 from Hockenson Quarter Horses in Iowa.  We were specifically shopping for young replacement fillies with the Two Eyed Jack/Pitzer bloodlines to pair up with any of our Paddys Irish Whiskey sons as some of our older mares with those lines have already niched very well with our Paddys stallions.  The Jackie Bee on Fanchy’s topside is a new line to our program and we are excited to see how that plays out.  The rest of her pedigree with Two Eyed Jack, Mr Baron Red, Watch Joe Jack and Two Eyed Red Buck speaks for itself. An exciting thing for us is her bottom bottom goes back to Eternal Sun and Poco Pine and we have those lines in some of our other mares. Her 2019 foal, Whiskey Up Yao JW, went to SD . Her 2021 foal, Whiskey Up Orchid JW, stayed in ND. Her 2022 filly, Whiskey Up Kelp JW, went to be with a repeat buyer.

Her sire is Whoop Up Whiskey. ‘Whoop’ is a 2010 son of Paddys Irish Whiskey and out of a great John Scott mare, My Little Sugar Babe. This is his 10th foal crop. The Paddys Irish Whiskey horses are making a name for themselves in everything from cutting to cowhorse events to roping horses and are very versatile.  A key difference between Whoop Up Whiskey and our other PIW sons is the dam pedigree. Whoop’s dam goes to Doc O Dynamite who also stood at the John Scott Ranch. Doc O Dynamite was an Equi-State leading cutting sire from 1999-2005 who produced money earners and according to his performance record, his daughters have produced many money earning foals in AQHA, NCHA, NRHA and NRCHA. Doc O Dynamite has a pedigree that traces back to Three Bars giving a bit more stretch and speed to his offspring and shows up on the pedigree of many arena and speed event horses. Whoop Up Whiskey aka Whoop brings that little more height and length and speed to our program as. He has excellent bone, athleticism and conformation. His lineage tells us that his offspring will have cow and will be capable of performing at any level. Whoop’s foals are breaking out really kind and level headed.

Garnet should be a nice all-around prospect with a lot of style. She will be able to excel in the arena or on the ranch as well. We are seeing a lot of that style and grace in these Whoop babies.  We may keep her depending upon her 5 panel results.  But feel free to reach out if she interests you.
