Due to unforeseen circumstances, we only had interns until the middle of June and are currently without any which we usually have through December of each year. Therefore, we have been delayed with getting our 34 foals on the website & Facebook. Please be patient with us. We know many folks have been messaging and calling. We won’t have any additional help with halter breaking this fall and are pricing all colts and fillies for the same price of $2000 each with $2250 if they are colored with cream, gray or roan. We will honor the 10% discount for repeat and multiple buyers. We reserve the right to keep which we want for ourselves and to keep some at a higher price. Halter training will be basic and gentled but not to the same degree some of you may be used to. They will be weaned and eating good for 2 weeks. Genetic testing will be sent in but will be listed as pending for those with no results yet. Whoop Up Whiskey has a 50/50 chance as GBED carrier; TRR Paddys Texas Gin has a 50/50 chance as HERDA carrier; and handful of mares with have a 50/50 chance as either one or both of those two disorders.
Born 5-19-24. Some years we do a fun theme for names. This year we decided to go with a space theme. Many of these names are a little loose in thoughts regarding if they are planets, stars, or things found in space. This filly is named Eris. Eris is the largest dwarf planet in our system. It is about the same size as Pluto, but 3x further from the sun.
‘Eris’ is a very stylish buckskin filly with some white. Her dam is Caballero Drift JW who is an 87% NFQHA (F0039280) buckskin mare. We raised her from a foal out of Mujer Dewey Dial JW that is 83% NFQHA. Dewey was purchased from Grantier Quarter Horses because her mare line is very close to several of our VERY PROVEN ranch horses. Mujer Tacky Jay, now deceased, made a name for himself producing using horses for the family, ranch, arena and youth. We really believe in these horse families. Caballero Drift JW’s sire is Walter O Rielly aka Radar. We were looking for a foundation Driftwood bred stallion to hopefully get some replacement fillies out of some of our better mares. Radar is a 90.234% foundation bred perlino stallion who goes to King P-234 ten times, to Driftwood four times with strong doses of Joe Reed, Three Bars and a little Doc Bar. Radar is a 16 hand horse with a huge stride and a gentle personality. Caballero was the first foal for this pairing, and we are very pleased how she matured. Her 2020 Whiskey Up Crocus JW is in MT. Her 2022 foal, Whiskey Up Squid JW, went to repeat buyers in MT. Caballero was open for 2023.
Eris’s sire is Whoop Up Whiskey. ‘Whoop’ is a 2010 son of Paddys Irish Whiskey and out of a great John Scott mare, My Little Sugar Babe. This is his 11th foal crop. The Paddys Irish Whiskey horses are making a name for themselves in everything from cutting to cowhorse events to roping horses and are very versatile. A key difference between Whoop Up Whiskey and our other PIW sons is the dam pedigree. Whoop’s dam goes to Doc O Dynamite who also stood at the John Scott Ranch. Doc O Dynamite was an Equi-State leading cutting sire from 1999-2005 who produced money earners and according to his performance record, his daughters have produced many money earning foals in AQHA, NCHA, NRHA and NRCHA. Doc O Dynamite has a pedigree that traces back to Three Bars giving a bit more stretch and speed to his offspring and shows up on the pedigree of many arena and speed event horses. Whoop Up Whiskey aka Whoop brings that little more height and length and speed to our program as. He has excellent bone, athleticism and conformation. His lineage tells us that his offspring will have cow and will be capable of performing at any level. Whoop’s foals are breaking out really kind and level headed.
Eris should have all the potential to be a nice prospect no matter which direction she is pointed towards. She is a beautiful filly. Whoop is a GBED carrier so she has a 50/50 chance so check her status below.
