Born 5-22-26 Some years we do a fun theme for names. This year for Top Gun Whiskey we are continuing with Top Gun Call Signs from the original 1986 movie and the 2022 movie. Our other stallions will have the names of Rock Bands from the 70s, 80s and 90s. This filly is name Guns as in Guns N’ Roses an American hard rock band that became one of the most influential and recognizable groups in music history, and demand for Guns N’ Roses tickets reflects their lasting global appeal. Formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1985. From the beginning, the band stood out for its raw energy, rebellious attitude, and a sound that mixed the aggression of punk with the power and melody of classic rock and metal. They have so many hit songs like “Sweet Child O Mine”, “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door”, “Paradise City” and “Welcome To The Jungle”.

‘Guns’ is a bay filly with a right rear pastern higher in the back, left rear pastern and a disconnected star, strip and snip.  Her dam is Anyware who was purchased October 2016 from Wagonhound Land & Livestock Co., LLC as a consignment at the Return to the Remuda Sale at The Four Sixes Ranch in Texas. We had been looking for a daughter of Playgun for a couple years and are very pleased with the purchase of Anyware.  We feel her pedigree speaks for itself.  She is about 14-3, very feminine and stout and thick.  She is very friendly and easy to work with. She was purchased fall of 2016 open for 2017 but with an inclusive 2017 breeding to WR This Cats Smart. We enrolled her in the embryo transfer program which resulted in a total of 4 foals. Two are full siblings by WR and the other two are full siblings by Bet Hesa Cat. One of her WR 2018 foals, Anyware This Cat, went to a repeat buyer in Kansas. The other, Anyware This Smart went to a home in Illinois. Her 2018 Bet Hesa Cat foals Anyware Lucky Bet and Anyware Bet are both fillies we have retained for ourselves. Anyware Bet was shown in NRCHA, Verstility and Cutting and has been back for several years ranching for us.  She is a tremendous asset to our cattle ranch. Anyware Lucky Bet had her first foal in 2022 and it was euthanized due to a broken leg; had a fantastic bay roan filly in 2023 and a stud colt so far in 2025. In 2020 Anyware had Whiskey Up Pistol JW, a bay stallion by Whoop Up Whiskey that is in TX as potential stud prospect. Her 2021 foal, Paddys Gin Pistol JW, went to AZ with a repeat buyer. Her 2022 foal, Paddys Gin Pepto JW, went to the same home as his 2021 brother. Her 2023 foal, Paddys Gin Royal JW, stayed in ND with our employee. Her 2024 colt, Paddys Gin Mars JW, is in MT with a repeat buyer. Her 2025 colt, Paddys Gin Pippin JW, unfortunately is deceased.

Gun’s sire is TRR Paddys Texas Gin aka Tex. This is Tex’s 18th foal crop. He puts very thick and muscular foals on the ground with very nice muscle expression on them as well as a lot of athleticism and as they develop, they have a lot of vigor. The oldest ones have been started under saddle by various buyers and we are hearing good things from all of them. The Paddys Irish Whiskey horses are making a name for themselves in everything from cutting to cowhorse events to roping horses and are very versatile—Tanquery Gin, Doc O’Lena, Docs Starlight, Poco Tivio, Peppy San Badger. His daughters, when bred to current barrel stallions are producing 1D and 2D barrel horses with other owners.

Anyware has produced nice foals with our Paddy’s sons. We are really liking this cross with Tex and Guns is the 6th of full siblings and they are all just fantastic. Tex is a HERDA carrier so we will check Gun’s results. Anyware is healthy and doing great.  However, she is a 2007 model and her years of producing will eventually come to an end and therefore we are keeping this filly for ourselves as an investment into our program.
