Born 4-23-15. Another adorable filly from Blondy! ‘Chinks’ was color tested and is a dark bay with a left rear half stocking, right rear half pastern, left front pastern with distal spots and right front half pastern. She also has a star and snip. She’s built just right with a super nice cowhorse pedigree and a sweet disposition. Her dam, Blondy Bueno, is cutting bred with Doc Bar, Bueno Chex, Peppy San and Tianna Leo x Leo on her papers. She has very quickly become our top mare. Blondy is a palomino and produced a smoky black filly, Bueno Macy Reed JW, in 2010 by JK Jay Reed that is carrying the cream gene. Macy broke out great and after using her on the ranch, she joined the broodmare bunch and had a 2014 buckskin filly Paddys Gin Timber JW who has stayed here on the ranch with one of our employees. Blondy’s 2011 Obi Wan Kenobi Reed JW went to a roper here in ND. 2012 Bueno Kotoa Evans JW is now in Texas as a steer tripping prospect and broke out well. Her 2013 foal, Paddys Gin Bueno JW, is in Montana as a reined cowhorse prospect and her 2014 filly, Whiskey Up Chloe JW, went to Missouri.
This is Blondy’s second foal by Whoop Up Whiskey. ‘Whoop’ is a 2010 son of Paddys Irish Whiskey and out of a great John Scott mare, My Little Sugar Babe. The Paddys Irish Whiskey horses are making a name for themselves in everything from cutting to cowhorse events to roping horses and are very versatile. A key difference between Whoop Up Whiskey and our other PIW son, TRR Paddys Texas Gin, is the dam pedigree. While both dams go back to Doc O Lena, Whoop’s goes to Doc O Dynamite who also stood at the John Scott Ranch. Doc O Dynamite was an Equi-State leading cutting sire from 1999-2005 who produced money earners and according to his performance record, his daughters have produced many money earning foals in AQHA, NCHA, NRHA and NRCHA. Doc O Dynamite has a pedigree that traces back to Three Bars giving a bit more stretch and speed to his offspring and shows up on the pedigree of many arena and speed event horses. Whoop Up Whiskey aka Whoop brings that little more height and length and speed to our program as compared to TRR Paddys Texas Gin. He has excellent bone, athleticism and conformation. His lineage tells us that his offspring will have cow and will be capable of performing at any level.
We fully expect this to be a top filly for the year if she develops to her genetic potential. Blondy and Whoop are disposition plus horses and we’ve already had our hands on this filly out in the big pasture. Chinks will have all the right moves to go any direction in the cowhorse world from cutting, reining, versatility, reined cowhorse, rodeo performance, or just all around ranch horse. We are seeing a lot of style and grace in these Whoop babies.
UPDATE 8-8-19 Chinks is just fantastic. You can tell in pictures what a stout chunk she was on pasture with her mama and she's still nice and stout. Blondy is a top mare and Chinks is probably her best filly so far. We are pretty proud of this one. The most recent pictures are of her summer 2019. Chinks broke out very well, so well infact we decided to keep ranching on her for awhile before we decide if she is to join the broodmare bunch or not. She is a solid 15 hands and a very smooth ride.
