Born 4-30-16. Some years we do a fun theme for names. This year we decided to go with American Made Muscle Cars from the 50s, 60s and 70s. We have had some fun researching them. This stud colt is named after the Boss engine Ford Mustang used on several different models, 1969-1970 Ford Boss 302 Mustang, 1969-1973 Ford Mustang Boss 429 and 1971 Ford Mustang Boss 351.
‘Boss’ is all boy with a big round star and a left rear white ankle. He does not show strong bay coloring so we color tested him and he is genetically a bay horse. We cannot express how excited we are for this stud colt to join us here on the ranch! His mama, Charjody, is a gorgeous 84% NFQHA double bred Two Eyed Jack mare with him still on her papers. She also goes back to Babe Cody by Bill Cody. We have already retained her 2008 daughter, Peponita Stareyed JW aka Bubbles, for our program. Bubbles is one of the ranch’s main saddle horses who also produced her first foal in 2015. Bubbles has such an awesome disposition and a lot of cow to her. In between 2008 and 2015 Charjody has produced some fantastic foals with whatever stallion we put her with and we have one buyer who has 4 of her offspring. Charjody’s other foals for us have been 2010, Charmander Reed JW, 2011, Charizard Reed JW, and 2014 Char B Reed JW; all full brothers and 2012 maternal sister, Paddys Gin Tookie JW, who are all four in North Carolina with the same buyer. Charjody’s 2013 stud colt, Paddys Gin Jig JW, is in Utah as an all-around ranch horse prospect and now a sire himself. Her 2015 filly, Cider Drift JW, has been retained for ourselves.
This is Charjody’s first foal with Whoop Up Whiskey. ‘Whoop’ is a 2010 son of Paddys Irish Whiskey and out of a great John Scott mare, My Little Sugar Babe. The Paddys Irish Whiskey horses are making a name for themselves in everything from cutting to cowhorse events to roping horses and are very versatile. A key difference between Whoop Up Whiskey and our other PIW son, TRR Paddys Texas Gin, is the dam pedigree. While both dams go back to Doc O Lena, Whoop’s goes to Doc O Dynamite who also stood at the John Scott Ranch. Doc O Dynamite was an Equi-State leading cutting sire from 1999-2005 who produced money earners and according to his performance record, his daughters have produced many money earning foals in AQHA, NCHA, NRHA and NRCHA. Doc O Dynamite has a pedigree that traces back to Three Bars giving a bit more stretch and speed to his offspring and shows up on the pedigree of many arena and speed event horses. Whoop Up Whiskey aka Whoop brings that little more height and length and speed to our program as compared to TRR Paddys Texas Gin. He has excellent bone, athleticism and conformation. His lineage tells us that his offspring will have cow and will be capable of performing at any level
Boss should have the disposition and moves to go any direction desired. He will be for sale.

UPDATE 2-5-17 We are super excited about the quality of this colt! His mama is so proven to produce these big stout colts and Boss has sure turned into another one of those. We were not sure what to expect with this first time cross, but WOW! Don't pass this one up! The mare is aged and was exposed the same way for 2017 but there will not be many more like this one. Additional pictures and video available. His price will go up as his birthday approaches.
