Born 5-11-2016. Some years we do a fun theme for names. This year we decided to go with American Made Muscle Cars from the 50s, 60s and 70s. We have had some fun researching them. This stud colt is named after the 1964-1969 Ford Falcon.
‘Falcon’ is a dark buckskin stallion with white hairs on forehead, white hairs on snip and a left rear white partial pastern. His dam is Bueno Macy Reed JW, a 2010 mare we raised. ‘Macy’ is a mare with a super nice cowhorse pedigree. Her sire is JK Jay Reed, a 96% foundation bred stallion with Poco Pine, Continental King, Joe Reed II and Whiskey Bert all on his papers. Her dam, Blondy Bueno, is cutting bred with Doc Bar, Bueno Chex, Peppy San and Tianna Leo x Leo on her papers. Since her dam is a palomino, Macy is carrying the cream gene making her a smoky black which she can pass on 50% of the time.
Falcon’s sire is TRR Paddys Texas Gin aka Tex. This is Tex’s eighth foal crop. He puts very thick and muscular foals on the ground with very nice muscle expression on them as well as a lot of athleticism and as they develop they have a lot of vigor. The oldest ones have been started under saddle by various buyers and we are hearing good things from all of them. The Paddys Irish Whiskey horses are making a name for themselves in everything from cutting to cowhorse events to roping horses and are very versatile—Tanquery Gin, Doc O’Lena, Docs Starlight, Poco Tivio, Peppy San Badger. Falcon’s sister is 2014 Paddys Gin Timber JW and she is really turning out nicely and is the same dark buckskin color. Falcon will have plenty of ‘cow’ and should be an all-around athlete. He is a nice sized foal and we are excited to see what he can do. Falcon should have all the skills to go any direction from arena to pasture. He is for sale and is 5 panel N/N.
UPDATE 2-5-17. This colt is just awesome. We are so please with his size and bone. He is a dark sooty buckskin. It will be exciting to see him shed out this spring. With his NN status he could very easily be a stallion prospect for somebody and pass color 50% of the time. His price will go up as his birthday approaches.
