Born 5/19/19 ‘Boonie’ is a sorrel filly with star, narrow strip and snip and a left rear ankle.  This is her dam’s, My Kittys Melody JW, third foal and we are very pleased. She is one of our own JK Jay Reed aka Pine Cone daughters. Melody is 91% NFQHA. Her pedigree is solid with good dispositions all around and Melody has had a friendly disposition since birth. Melody has a very feminine face, gorgeous neck, kind eye, good bone, nice hip and as a plus, her mane ALL goes to the right giving her a very clean look. She was started under saddle when she was three and she did very well. She started her ranch work career in 2013 and showed the right amount of ‘cow’ to enter the broodmare bunch. Her 2015 foal Paddys Gin Bay JW stayed with us and had her first foal this year. We also kept her 2017 foal, My Sandra Drift JW for one of our ranching and broodmare prospects.

We were the high bidder on a free breeding to Boon San through a benefit auction supporting the victims of the horrible 2017 Texas Panhandle, Oklahoma and Kansas wildfires. Boon San is owned by Rocking P Ranch LLC. He has an LTE of $57,580 including show highlights, Breeder’s Invitational Finalist, Bonanza Finalist and Brazos Bash Finalist. He was also a semi finalist in the NCHA open futurity. He is 5 panel NN and is a full brother the 2004 NCHA horse of the year, Boon San Kitty.  We also own 2 granddaughters of Boon San,  2018 Ms Boon Topaz and 2019 Ms Boon Jess.

We are very excited about this pairing. The only two foals Melody has given us we have kept because they are that good. Boonie should have the athletic ability with an abundance of cow to show be able to excel in the show pen or breeding program or ranch. Boonie is eligible for: NCHA Super Stakes, Breeder’s Invitational, NRCHA, PCCHA, Abilene Spectacular & Bonanza. We have been happy with how Boonie has matured. She has been exposed to Top Gun Whiskey for a 2023 foal.
