Thanks Adron!

Born 5/03/19 ‘Sultan’ is a buckskin stallion with no white on his face and a left rear pastern. We have chosen two movie themes this year to name our foals, one is Aladdin and the other is Mulan.  In coordination with the remake of Aladdin coming to theaters soon, we decided to name this guy, Sultan after Jasmine’s Father, The Sultan, who is the pompous but benevolent ruler of Agrabah.

His dam, Blondy Bueno, is cutting bred with Doc Bar, Bueno Chex, Peppy San and Tianna Leo x Leo on her papers. She has very quickly become our top mare and has excelled with whatever stallion we put her with.  Blondy is a palomino and produced a smoky black filly, Bueno Macy Reed JW, in 2010 by JK Jay Reed and then her 2011 black colt, Obi Wan Kenobi Reed JW, went to a roper here in ND.  2012 black colt, Bueno Kotoa Evans JW, was by Kotoa Dee Evans and is now in Texas as a steer tripping prospect and broke out well. Her 2013 buckskin colt, Paddys Gin Bueno JW by TRR Paddys Texas Gin is in Montana as a reined cowhorse prospect.  Blondy then had five foals with Whoop Up Whiskey.  2014 buckskin filly, Whiskey Up Chloe JW, went to Missouri; 2015 dark bay filly, Whiskey Up Chinks JW, has been retained here on the ranch with us and spent a year in reined cowhorse training  and we plan to ride and ranch on her; 2016 buckskin colt, Whiskey Up Rebel JW is now in Oklahoma with a family and giving rides to little kids; 2017 brown filly Whiskey Up Nala JW is also fantastic; and 2018 bay stallion, Whiskey Up Brazil JW, went to a very special home. He was purchased by the original owners of Blondy Bueno. They have plans to ranch on him in Montana.

Blondy’s steady producing abilities made her an excellent established mare to give to Top Gun Whiskey by Paddys Irish Whiskey for his first foal crop. Top Gun Whiskey is one of four Paddys Irish Whiskey sons that we have owned. We decided to give Top Gun a shot at the show ring before breeding him. In 2016 he qualified for the AQHA World Show in Jr Reining, Jr Reining Level 2 and Jr Cowhorse Level 2; in 2017 he qualified for the AQHA World Show in Jr Cowhorse, Jr Cowhorse Level 2 and Open Heading Level 2 placing 6th.  It has been an interesting ride as he continued to show during the 2018 year as well as breed some of our mares for 2019 foals. Top Gun qualified for the 2018 World NRCHA show, was 2018 North Central Regional NRCHA Champion and has earned 46 AQHA performance points in reining, working cow horse, heading, heeling, vrh cutting, vrh reining and vrh versatility and has his AQHA Open Performance ROM.  He has continued to show in reined cowhorse in 2019 and add to his points. Check out his stallion page with us for the most up to date information as we will change it as it happens.

We fully expect this to be a top foal for the year if Sultan develops to his genetic potential. He will have all the right moves to go any direction in the cowhorse world from cutting, reining, versatility, reined cowhorse, rodeo performance or just all-around ranch horse.  We currently plan to keep him for ourselves.  But feel free to talk to us about him if he interests you.
