Born 6-19-21.  ‘Sailor’ is a red dun stallion with an irregular star, snip, rear left pastern for sure and we will evaluate his other feet as his color darkens.  This year our names are flower/tree/rangeland plants themed. It stuck when our first foal was born and we started calling her ‘Posie’ which means a ‘bunch of flowers’. So we decided to go with it.  However, this colt is getting a pedigree name. 

Sailor’s dam, Padsy Cline, aka Sue, is by Paddys Irish Whiskey. We have always owned several Paddys Irish Whiskey sons and Sue is one of four daughters we now own. As per the 6666’s website, Paddys Irish Whiskey has earned the respect as a consistent sire of both class and high-end trainability for all walks of the reining and cowhorse worlds, siring champions in versatility ranch horse, reined cowhorse, cutting, reining, calf roping and team roping.  He is also a great broodmare sire. Sue’s dam was never shown herself. She is a daughter of Smart Lil Riddler who also has no earnings but is a stout horse for a Smart Little Lena son. His listed owners have said on their website he is good minded and athletic and passes these traits down to his foals. Sue’s very bottom side traces back to Peponita, through the mare Peponita Sue (hence her call name), who we are fans of and has influence in our broodmare herd already.

Sailor’s sire is Goldun Topsail aka “Topper” who is a 90% NFQHA (F0039287) dun stallion. He is our newest stallion and this is his 1st foal crop. We acquired Topper as part of a package deal with his dam, Whizzin Lena. As a grandson of Topsail Whiz and a son of Jaz Poco Goldun Blue we could not be happier. His dam, Whizzin Lena aka Whiz is an older mare we purchased from Ryan Fleetwod at Fleetwood Farms. Bred at Bob Loomis Quarter Horses in Oklahoma, Whiz is a very well-bred reining mare.  Sired by Topsail Whiz, the 1st and only NRHA 12 million dollar sire, and out of a mare by Justa Doc Olena by Doc O Lena, this mare was third in the South Country Derby Non-Pro division in 2001 and won the Non-Pro Reining Futurity at the Canadian Supreme in Red Deer, Alberta. Whiz’s earnings total $8,112.00 including NRHA $3,754. She also has four performing foals. Her sire Topsail Whiz is in the Hall of Fame, a NRHA money earner, NRHA #1 all time leading sire, AQHA World Show Qualifier, AQHA Leading Sire and ROM Performance. Topper’s sire is Jaz Poco Goldun Blue who is the most photographed or well-known grulla horse. He is 95% foundation and 27% Poco Bueno. He is a NRHA money earner and a World Champion Sire. Topper has been here maturing and growing. He was started very well under saddle as a two year old. We are excited to see how his foals mature.
